Barbara Strang

Barbara Strang is the author of the well-received book of poems Duck Weather (Poets Group, 2005). She won the Aoraki Festival Contest 1998, the haiku section of New Zealand Poetry Society's Competition, 2003 and 1997, and the Takahe Cultural Studies Competition 2002 for her essay on Baxter. She is widely published here and overseas.

She is presently editor for Sudden Valley Press, and edited the New Zealand Poetry Society's anthologies, 2009 and 2010. Born at Invercargill, she was educated at Otago, Canterbury and Victoria Universities, and gained an MA in Creative Writing (Victoria University) 1998. She lives at McCormacks Bay, Christchurch.
