From Shoot by Mark PirieProgressdownstairs there are moans the wall shakes & my bed rattles it's 3 in the morning & these poems so I get out of bed & glance at a needle, I would knit a light refrain something like, 'Welcome to Placing the Self Within the Scenei 'The Street Scene'this time he pulls up the van door thrusts open watching him work the gears unevenly you straighten, struggling as the opening credits their 'viewless wings' ii 'The Catharsis'you're in the presence one attempts to console you, in this particular scene the James Dean comments iii 'There Will Come a Stranger'at the movement's finale they find you at your desk the tears drying iv 'Working With the Light'outside soft shadow slowly the room you find your- the words v 'Adjusting to the Garden'you bend to the left trots a group of you watch the way tug at the daylight their cameras extending vi 'Resolving a Long Standing Problem'somewhere in the last act on the couch, the characters you rise from your chair 'a different perspective opens up' ©Mark Pirie |
